Registry and disclosures for third party advertisers
As required by section 182 of the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA), every registered third party who advertises during the election advertising period is required to file a contribution statement and an election advertising return to Elections Calgary. These disclosure documents must be received by Elections Calgary on or before March 1 in the year following a general election or 120 days after a by-election.
On or before September 30 of a year in which a general election is to be held, the chief financial officer of a third party registered under section 163 must file a third party election advertising return in respect of the period beginning on May 1 and ending on July 31 of that year.
